Common Dog Run Questions:

What size dog run is best?

A number of factors come into play when choosing the size of dog run that will best fit you and your pet. The size of your yard, and space you have available for the kennel, the energy level of your dog, and the amount you are willing to spend will all play a part in your decision. In most cases, the larger the run, the happier your pet will be as they will have more room to run and play. You will need to find a balance between the size of your yard and the size of your kennel. Energetic dogs will be better off in larger kennels, whereas older or less active dogs can usually be placed in a smaller kennel with no ill effects. It is usually better to have a long narrow kennel over a square kennel as this will allow the dog a longer run before it has to turn or go the other direction.

Outdoor dog runs are everywhere. Do you carry indoor dog runs?

Any of our outdoor dog runs can be used indoors, as long as you have the space. It is important to note that when using an outdoor dog run indoors, the legs of the dog runs may damage flooring so you should put the kennel on something if you are worried about your floor. Our Uptown dog run is very popular as an indoor dog run due to it's size and low cost.

Is assembling the dog run panels difficult?

Assembly of any of our modular dog run panels is very simple. Start by assembling a corner so that the panels will stand by themselves, then keep adding more panels. Panels are attached with a simple clamp that is held together with a nut and bolt. A smaller dog runs panels can take as little as 10 minutes to connect together.

What material are your dog runs made of?

All of our metal dog runs are all made out of galvanized steel. The chain link dog runs are 12 gauge steel with a galvanized finish. The welded wire mesh are 8 gauge metal with either a galvanized finish, or a galvanized and powdercoated finish.
