Whether you are looking for a large or small house, one that will keep you dog cool in the summer, or warm in the winter, we have a house and options that will meet your pet's needs.

All of our dog houses are clad with premium-grade Western red cedar and are framed by full 2 x 2 spruce dimensional lumber (with angle bracing) for optimal stability and strength. The foundations of our houses are constructed with lifetime pressure treated lumber for superior resistance against moisture rot and decay, and insect infestation. The strength of a dog house is largely determined by the amount of wood used to build it. In a recent comparison to one of our main competitors, our large house was found to contain almost 50% more wood than their house of comparable size. More wood equals a stronger dog house!

Each house is composed of a total of 7 pre-assembled and pre-drilled panels (floor, 4 walls, and 2 roof panels) and is supplied with all the necessary screws and instructions for easy assembly. All that you require to assemble one of our dog houses is a power screwdriver and about 15-30 minutes of your time.

Our houses do not require painting. Cedar naturally turns grey with age, but that natural oils in the wood protect it from rot and decay. However, if you would prefer to preserve the rich original color of your dog's house, simply spray or paint the exterior with Thompson's Wood Protector.

All of our dog houses feature:

• Treated lumber foundation for all parts that contact the ground for even more protection against rot, decay, and insect infestation.
• Solid wood roof - much better insulation value than asphalt shingles on plywood
• Offset door - provides a windbreak, a cooler spot out of the sun for your pet - a centered door on the front wall overexposes your dog to foul weather and direct sunlight.
• Vented ridge-cap - Promotes good air circulation and allows excess heat to escape in the summer. The roofline slopes away from front of house to keep rain from dripping on your pet.
• Removable vinyl door barriers - keep heat in and weather out in winter months (can also be removed in the summer months to increase interior ventilation)
• Removable roof - for easy cleaning and puppy observation

We also have a very wide range of optional accessories for our dog houses.

To protect your dog from weather extremes, we offer Thermo-Ply Barrier insulation as an option on all of our dog houses. While cedar in itself is already far superior to plastic, metal, other wood products, and most composite dog house materials, tough climates call for extra insulation. This lightweight and very thin insulation blocks as much as 93% of summer heat gain and 50% to 70% of winter heat loss through the ceiling and roof. The floor, ceiling and side walls are all insulated. To ensure long term durability from chewing and clawing, the sidewall insulation is protected by a lightweight mahogany plywood liner.

We also offer an optional a 2,500 BTU combination heater and air conditioner (heat pump) with most of our houses. Now your pet can have a safe place to go to escape from extreme weather.
